  • Fataah Ewe' Landing into sand? That is no easier on those dogs than any other breed. Why are men so cruel to those bullbreed dogs?

  • Fataah Ewe' Oh, I see...the launch bounces? I remember seeing a discussion about using pits in dock diving, where pibble people were advised that people and dogs and excitement were in close quarters in trials like that. They were not encouraging pits.

  • Anna Balsamo Fataah, where did you see pit people not recommending pits for dock diving? Ive seen some incredibly vicious pits in dock diving, including one that bit a kid in the face at an event, one that attacked three dogs within five minutes of arriving at an event, one that bolted off the dock to attack another dog waiting in line and one that got loose and ran around the parking lot growling and snarling at everything and every one. A friend was at an event with a pit that was so aggressive that she put didn't feel safe letting her own dogs out of the car to pee or poop. She drove them off grounds a good distance away each time. The other problem with dock diving is that the vast majority of participants are incredibly clueless. Most are bumbling pet owners who haven't ever trained a dog or competed with any dog. It's one of the few sports that a complete novice or idiot can participate in with no training whatsoever.

  • Gwendolyn Hanan Dock dogs with out water. Hum..... Well, lets' make this a breed specific sport for pit bulls. That works!!! Make those ramps higher, the boards springier and the sand pit shallower, pits love a challenge!!

  • Fataah Ewe' The discussion I saw was fairly recent. Maybe the debacles are adding up & word is getting around that they are unsuitable. I can't call to mind where I saw them talking abt this, --might think of it.

  • Fataah Ewe' Actually I am not happy seeing people being cruel to any dogs, as they seem so eager to do wi pits just because of their tough or fighter characteristics. Hating pits might equate to wanting to see them suffer for their faults, but then, hey might as well go to a dog fight and really revel. We can go overboard in our war on pits, seems. Feeling sorry for them doesn't mean dressing them in tutus, tho. They are what they are, a quandry for ethics.
